About Tähtede Laul Print

International children and youth music festival Tähtede Laul 2011 brings together the best singers from all over the world, offering the quests of Tallinn concert experiences in various concert venues. We are very happy that our festival is part of the European Culture Capital Tallinn’s 2011 program.

Beeing twelve years active, the songcontest has also in addition to Estonia gained notoriety in foreign countries. The contest is an expected event for many schools and groups.

For the very first festival there are expected participants from 17 countries. In addition to previous contacts the invitations are sent through the embassies and the Education Department to other countries.

For the year of 2011 the contest is changing its format, starting with the first Estonian international music festival for children and young people. The festival will remain the comparison of its musical abilities in the older age group (17-20 yr) of vocal soloists and ensembles for the last time. In the other age groups (3- 16 yr) the best singers perform their culture through ethno- pop genre and songs written by their home country composers.

The festival´s aim is to bring together young singers around the world to enjoy making music and to create contacts and friendships.

If you believe in yourself, everything is possible!
